Smith Storms Back for Win

Landon Smith played perfect golf over his final nine holes at Rock Hollow Golf Club to pick up his first Golfweek Junior Tour victory. After 27 holes on the two day tournament, Landon found himself five strokes behind the leader. With only nine holes left, he got to work and recorded four birdies and no bogeys en route to a four under par 32 on the front nine (he started on 10). Landon shot 77-70 for q 147 total over the two days and ended up winning the tournament by 2. James Momper (71-78) and Connor Byon (73-76) both tied for second place with 149 totals.

In the 14-15 Boys division, Caden Baker returned to the winner's circle for the first time in almost a year. Caden notched his third career Golfweek Junior Tour title with weekend rounds of 76-69. He led the field in birdies and his four birdies on the front nine on Saturday gave him the breathing room he needed to settle into a comfortable spot down the stretch. Caden's 145 total was the lowest score in any division for the entire weekend. Macauley Myers (77-70), Ryan Cesare (75-72), and Ocean Permana (74-73) tied for second place at 147.

Landon Tropf caught fire on Sunday at Rock Hollow Golf Club. Landon scorched the course for seven birdies and posted a four under par 68 when it was all said and done. It is the first win of Landon's GJT career. A first round 79 saw him one stoke behind the overnight leader. Despite his strong play out of the gate, he was still tied for the lead with only three holes remaining. Landon birdied all three holes to secure a four stroke victory. Alex Cook shot 78-73 for a 151 total and second place. Jake Hardin shot 154 (79-75) and finished the tournament in third place.
