Schuitema claims victory at NCR CC



Eleanor Schuitema tied for the low of the day on both days at NCR Country Club this weekend in Dayton, OH. That consistency paid off in the from of her third career Golfweek Junior Tour victory. Eleanor's six birdies on the weekend led the field. The race to the finish on Sunday was tight and Eleanor did not have the lead for good until the 14th hole. Her scores of 74-73 were good for a 147 total. Clare Yeazell finished the tournament in second place at 48 (74-74). Sydney Deal (75-75) and Rowan Pies (74-76) tied for third place at 150.




Daymian Rij birdied the first playoff hole at NCR Country Club on Sunday to claim his second career Golfweek Junior Tour title and first this season. He opened on Saturday with a even par 70 that put him three off the lead. He came out hot on Sunday with birdies on the first two holes and did not let up, recording seven birdies in his 65. A birdie on 18 forced the playoff and the following birdie in the playoff sealed the win. Finley Bartlett finished in second place with scores of 68-67, 135 total. Caleb Schnarr (69-70, 139) came in third place.






Troy Nguyen used remarkable consistency to claim his second career Golfweek Junior Tour win and first in over two years. Troy's first round 74 left him tied for the overnight lead. On Sunday, he managed a clean card with 17 pars and a birdie en route to a one under par 69. Despite the consistency, he did not grab the outright lead until just two holes were left. He parred from there out to go home a winner. Marhsall Morecy shot 74-70 to finish in second place at 144. Ben Fauver claimed third place with scores of 74-72, 146 total.



Harrison Young broke through for his first Golfweek Junior Tour win on Sunday at Heatherwoode Golf Club. Harrison posted a first round even par 71 that found him a couple strokes behind the leader. He came up strong on Sunday with a birdie at the opening hole and added three more birdies and an eagle on #9. All of the contributed to a four under 67 and a two stroke victory. Brookman Tyrer shot 69-71 over the two day to finish at two under par 140 and in second place. Patrick Myers (70-71) was one stroke back of that at 141 and took third.



Ellie Gonzalez-Ribble notched her second Golfweek Junior Tour win in as many starts this season at Heatherwoode Golf Club. Ellie carded an opening round two over par 73 on Saturday. That great round put her in the lead by 3 shots. Ellie managed a five over par 76 in round two which was good enough to hold off the competition. The 149 total is a new career low for Ellie. Olivia Donovan finished the tournament in second after shooting rounds of 76-75 for a 151 total. Calli Reed shot 79-76 and came in third place at 155.
