Kooi Completes Comeback




In her first Golfweek Junior Tour event, Addison Kooi staged a huge comeback to force a playoff were she went on to pick up her first GJT win. Addison was down by six strokes with only nine holes remaining, but played a clean back nine with two birdies that resulted in a 34. That forced a playoff and a par on the first hole of the playoff sealed her win. Addison wound up shooting 146 (72-74) over the two day event. Kylah Lunsford (69-77) finished second with a two day total of 146. Angelina Gong took third place at 151 (73-78) total.






Harshan Juttu paced the Boys 16-19 division with 30 pars in the two day event at Hueston Woods Golf Course. That propelled him to his first Golfweek Junior Tour victory. Over the course of two days, he added three birdies and three bogeys and finished at 144 (73-71), even par. That steady play kept him three strokes clear of his nearest competitor at the end. The 71 on Sunday was Harshan's first round under par on the GJT. Luke Attal (73-74) finished in second at 147. Ray Dress shot 78-70, 148 to take third place.






Brody Alexander started his final nine holes on Sunday one shot back of the leader. He birdied both the first and second holes (his 10th and 11th holes) to take the outright lead which he maintained the rest of the way. The win is the fourth overall in Brody's career and first of the new 2023-2024 season. He tied for the tournament lead in birdies with five, which helped him on his way to shooting 151 (72-79). Michael Pagnotto ended the weekend in second place with a two day total of 153 (73-80). Third place went to Andrew Gochenouer who shot 156 (78-78).






Michael Moorman emerged from an extremely congested leaderboard and a three person playoff with the second win of his Golfweek Junior Tour career. With just nine holes remaining, there were five players separated by only two shots. Michael made two birdies on the back to help him into a three-way playoff. He then parred each of the first two holes of the playoff to secure the win. Michael shot 77-80 (157) over two days. Blake Rohling (74-83) and Colt Altenburg (77-80) tied for second place at 157 total.






Ressie Lemmon was one stroke behind the leader with nine holes to play, but shot a 39 on the back to cap off her first Golfweek Junior Tour victory in her first ever start. Ressie shot 74 on Saturday at Hueston Woods Golf Course, which was the round of the tournament. She then followed it up on Sunday with an 81. The 155 total gave her a two stroke victory. Caroline Lankford finished the tournament in second place with a two day total of 157 (75-82). Olivia Donovan shot 80-78 for a 158 total and claimed third place.
