Bunker's Consistency Pays Off in HOF Spot

Ava Bunker was steady all weekend long at Kearney Hill Golf Links. She had the round of the day on Saturday with a first round 77 in very high winds. That was enough for a two shot lead. Ava followed it up with a two under par 70 on Sunday to win her second event of the season and 10th of her career. The win qualified Ava for the Golfweek Junior Tour Hall of Fame. She becomes the third girl from the high school class of 2026 to make the Hall of Fame in as many weeks. Courtney Beerheide and Alli Wiertel tied for second place with identical 79-70, 149s.

Davis Gochenouer added another victory to his storied career on Sunday after tallying six birdies. It is the fifth win of Davis' Golfweek Junior Tour career and second of the season. After a 75 on Saturday, he found himself one stroke behind the leaders starting the day on Sunday. He birdied his first two holes of the day and was off. Davis ended up shooting a one under par 143 for the weekend (75-68). There was a tie for second place between Jacob Settles (76-68, 144) and Conner McCall (77-67, 144).

In the Boys 14-15 division, Evan Taylor posted the round of the day on Saturday with an excellent 75 in very windy conditions. He got off to a good start on Sunday, but bogeys on 11 and 12 dropped him out of the lead. Evan responded in a big way and played the final 6 holes in four under par and emerged with a two shot win. It was the first of Evan's GJT career after narrowly missing his first last month. Evan shot 75-69 for a 144 total on the weekend. Cayse Morgan finished in second place with scores of 77-69 for a 146 total. Third place went to Caleb Schnarr who finished one behind that with a 78-69, 147 total.
